Bohemia released the DayZ Badlands expansion with Nasdara, a 267 km2 desert map, alongside Update 1.30 for the base game, which adds motorbikes and brings a full wipe across all platforms.

Dev Blog 8 introduces the wildlife of Nasdara: the mouflon, the desert monitor lizard and, for the first time in DayZ, territorial dogs that guard fixed locations.

• —Packs of Dobermans and German Shepherds guard specific locations, mainly military zones, and attack anyone who enters.
• —The dogs cannot be tamed.
• —The desert monitor lives around the Dasht-e Sarman Desert and can be hunted for food.

Bohemia's second Badlands recap fills in the new region of Nasdara ahead of the October 15 release: region-specific military uniforms, revised infected that stay grounded and human, and a set of new melee weapons.

• —Badlands remains on track for October 15, with some assets held back from Experimental until release.
• —New military gear includes short-sleeved police, OBR and FNO uniforms, the last in a night-desert camouflage, all tuned to Nasdara's dry, sun-exposed look.
• —Infected keep the series' grounded style, looking like ordinary infected people rather than Hollywood zombies, with visuals improved since the last blog.
• —New melee weapons are shown in a dedicated showcase video.
