No. 9 · Week of September 21, 2026
The week after BlizzCon fills the calendar with near-term dates. Arc Raiders sets Frozen Trail, a new map with player housing and a PvE test, for October 8. Apex Legends switches PC players to EA Javelin anticheat on September 29. Counter-Strike 2 adds a 3v3 Rush mode, Throne and Liberty puts a colossus on a weekly guild timer, and ARK, DayZ and Guild Wars 2 all set drop dates.
Embark detailed Frozen Trail, arriving October 8. It adds a new frozen map built around a fallen Emperor, a new Frigate enemy, and an Outpost system that gives each player a home to customize. A PvE mode is also going into testing.
For your guild
The Outpost gives every member a home to build, so a guild has a fresh reason to log in together on October 8. A PvE mode in testing means a squad that would rather avoid other players may soon have a mode built for it.
From September 29, Apex Legends replaces Easy Anti-Cheat with EA's own Javelin anticheat on PC. Players download an update on launch and are migrated automatically. Unlike some EA titles, Apex will not require Secure Boot to be enabled.
For your guild
Tell PC members to expect a required update on September 29 and to leave extra time before a scheduled match that night. Anyone who has had trouble with kernel-level anticheat should check they can still launch after the switch.
A Street Fighter 6 crossover event drops into the Wildcard mode on a remixed Olympus. Players pick the fighting style of Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma or Dhalsim, fill a Fight Gauge, then enter a stronger third-person Fighter Form.
For your guild
This is a limited event mode, not a balance change, so nothing about your ranked or scrim plans moves. It is a themed night a squad can drop into together while it is live.
Update 4.13.0 adds the Colossus Vegamor, fought in Peace and Guild events that alternate every Tuesday, plus ten Eye of Chaos recipes that craft Heroic weapons up a tier, and a round of weapon skill balance.
For your guild
Vegamor turns Tuesday into a fixed guild night: put the 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. server-time events on the calendar, and sort who needs the Otherworldly Mind's Eyes for an Eye of Chaos weapon before anyone rerolls a build.
Counter-Strike 2 adds Rush, a queued 3v3 mode played across a gauntlet of randomly selected battle arenas. The same update changes Premier map selection to a pick system, brings back clan tags, and adds a slower silent reload.
For your guild
Rush gives a small group a real queue for the nights a full five is not online. Clan tags coming back is a free way to make a guild visible in every lobby, so agree on one Steam Group for members to set as their tag.
Community Crunch 524 previews the three-headed Cerberax, which lands September 30 for ARK Fantastic Tames Season 1 owners alongside the Therizinosaurus TLC, the Gargantar, and the game's upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.8.
For your guild
The engine upgrade on September 30 is the one to plan for: back up server configs and test mods before updating, since a major engine jump is where mods break. ARKpocalypse tribes have until October 16 before the next reset.
ArenaNet will run the first beta of a new World vs. World Borderlands map on November 10. Themed on Ascalon during the Searing, it will eventually replace the Green Alpine Borderlands and is shown in unfinished gray-box form for feedback.
For your guild
WvW guilds get an early say in a map that will join the rotation, so plan to field a group on November 10 and gather notes on objective placement while the layout can still change.
Bohemia's second Badlands recap fills in the new region of Nasdara ahead of the October 15 release: region-specific military uniforms, revised infected that stay grounded and human, and a set of new melee weapons.
For your guild
Nothing new to schedule beyond the October 15 date already set. Server owners should keep testing which animation mods break on the current Experimental build, since Bohemia has warned the animation changes can affect them.
Old School RuneScape's latest update brings a second round of gathering quality-of-life changes: Daeyalt Shards can now double from the Celestial Ring's boost, Poison Dynamite is cheaper to make, and traps can pull logs from the Log Basket.
For your guild
Little here changes group play, but the new fire at the Nex bank lets a team cooking for the Nex fight restock on the spot instead of hauling food in. The rest is solo skilling convenience.
