Studios lay out what comes next

Share

Battlefield 6 published the longest roadmap of the week and dated it: custom lobbies in August, proximity chat in September, platoons not until winter. Elsewhere the work was steadier. EVE Online cut the player count a factional-warfare plex pays out at, Old School RuneScape opened voting on its fourth raid's rewards, Gloria Victis merged its servers and started a new Glory Season, and Arc Raiders stopped counting self-defence against you.

Mark the calendar

  • AugustBattlefield 6 Season 4 Phase 2: custom lobbies, spectator mode, and Wake Island.
  • SeptemberBattlefield 6 Season 4 Phase 3 brings proximity chat.
  • Sep 29Counter-Strike 2 Cologne 2026 shop closes. Team-fund sticker buys need to happen before then.

From the front line

  • Battlefield 6 · Electronic Arts

Battlefield 6 - Community Update - New Maps, Features, and More

EA put dates on the rest of the year: custom lobbies, spectator mode and Wake Island in August, proximity chat in September, then platoons, a server browser, leaderboards and three maps with Season 5 in winter.

    For your guild
Custom lobbies in August are the ones to plan scrim nights against. Platoons are a winter feature, so there is no reason to restructure your squads around them yet.

  • Arc Raiders · Embark Studios

    Live Update 1.39.0

Embark is testing a matchmaking change where defending yourself carries no weight at all in your playstyle estimate, down from reduced weight. Only fights you start count. Trinkets from 1.33.0 now stack, and Seeker and Wolfpack damage is consistent again.

    For your guild
A crew that fights back in contested zones should stop drifting into aggressive lobbies, because only the fights you pick still shape your estimate. Worth re-testing your rules of engagement while the test runs.

  • Counter-Strike 2 · Valve

    Counter-Strike 2 Update

Boulder, Fachwerk and Shelter each took their latest Workshop version, the Ranked Series stickers went on sale with half of royalties shared with players and teams, and Valve closed a hole that let players dodge VACnet.

    For your guild
Three community maps changed under you. Re-walk any of them that sit in your practice pool before the next match, and get team-fund sticker buys in before the Cologne shop closes on September 29.

  • EVE Online · CCP Games

    Patch Notes - Version 24.01

The 24.01 page gathers 22 sub-patches from June and July. Among them: the ELT-10 complex becomes ELT-5 and pays out at five characters instead of ten, its NPC count drops from six to four with respawns doubled, and battlefield LP goes from 50k to 150k.

    For your guild
Factional warfare now rewards smaller gangs. A corp that could never field ten for a plex can hold one with five, and the battlefield payout is worth three times what it was.

  • Old School RuneScape · Jagex

The Fractured Archive - Rewards Poll Blog

Voting is open on the rewards for Old School's fourth raid. The Breaker now rolls damage four times against enemies weakest to Crush, the Gatekeeper's Cane becomes a two-handed magic weapon called Zorya's Tome, and Zeal gains 75 Attack and Strength requirements.

    For your guild
These rewards pass or fail on member votes, so a clan that turns out together genuinely moves the result. Worth a Discord post while the poll is live.

  • Gloria Victis · gamigo

Welcome to the Season of War | Server Merge Complete, State of War Returns

Each region's servers merged into one during maintenance, and a new Glory Season opened. Seasons run about two months, pay Contribution Points every Thursday by rank, and hand titles and gold to the top of the table. Character progression is not reset.

    For your guild
Contribution Points land every Thursday by rank, so a nation that turns out weekly banks steadily rather than in bursts. The merge means more competition for the same territory, which makes this the moment to recruit.

  • The Quinfall · Vawraek Technology

    The Quinfall - Patch v1.0.0.36

Balance changes apply to both clients, but UI updates no longer reach the old one, so skill descriptions and numbers shown there are out of date. The beta branch also picks up frame-rate fixes in world-boss areas like Doomcaller.

    For your guild
Move members to the beta branch. Anyone left on the old client is reading stale numbers off their own skill descriptions, even though the server is applying the new ones.

From the survival front

  • ARK: Survival Ascended · Studio Wildcard

Community Crunch 517: Sharper Than Ever

The Therizinosaurus gets the TLC treatment voted for at Extra Life: combat responsiveness, controls and traversal all change, wild ones now telegraph before they charge, and no two look quite alike.

    For your guild
This is more than a reskin. If your tribe leans on Therizinos for harvesting, expect them to handle differently, and expect wild ones to be readable enough that fewer members die walking past them.

  • DayZ · Bohemia Interactive

DayZ Badlands | Dev Blog Recap (1)

Bohemia starts a recap format for the Badlands blogs, revisiting the rebuilding system: in Nasdara you can rebuild and barricade select houses, at whatever scale you choose, as a more forgiving alternative to current base building.

    For your guild
Rebuilding houses lowers the bar to a defensible group base, which is the part of DayZ that usually costs a squad its whole week. Worth tracking if your server has been putting off building.

The war table

  • Dota 2 · Valve

Gameplay Patch 7.41e and Summer Scrub

7.41e arrives with the Summer Scrub, a sweep of features and bug fixes long enough that Valve gave it its own page, plus the usual International predictions, fantasy and supporter bundles.

    For your guild
The Scrub kills a long tail of quirks, some of which your stack may have been using on purpose. Read the changes page before your next scrim rather than discovering it mid-draft.

  • Age of Empires IV · World's Edge

Celebrating Age in 2026 – Where We're At, and Where We're Going

World's Edge looks back at Yue Fei's Legacy for Age IV, The Last Chieftains for Age II: DE, and Age II reaching macOS. Ahead: the Raiders of the North expansion, bringing both the Vikings and the Scots to Age IV.

    For your guild
Two new civilizations are coming to Age IV, which is where the ladder meta will move. If your group is choosing an Age title to organise nights around, that is the argument for IV.
