The pre-launch dev-diary run, systems reveals, and release news for Paradox’s next grand strategy.

It’s another happy Wednesday! I’m Ryagi, Community Manager for your two favorite games (EU4 and EU5 of course) and today we’ll be talking about a collection of things on everyone's minds, including performance in 1.4 , complacency , and more. But before that we have…
Europa Universalis V is a trademark of Paradox Interactive AB.
Update 1.4 adds a free campaign timeline that replays a save day by day with population, economic base and tax base charted, and marks the Black Death, the discovery of America, the Columbian Exchange and the Little Ice Age.
For your guild
Paradox is aiming at ticks 40 to 50% faster than 1.3, and warns that the headline anecdotes came off high-end machines. For a group session the tick rate is the whole evening, since everyone waits on the slowest box.
Version 1.4 gives Laws their own panel, adds a Turmoils panel gathering diseases, rebels and movements, and lets players see and edit building queues per location instead of cancelling the lot. A new Uncontrolled Wealth mapmode shows where tax is escaping.
For your guild
No rules change, so a multiplayer group's strategy is untouched. What changes is how long a turn takes: editing a building queue in place removes one of the slowest bits of a session for whoever holds everyone up.
The Guild Post gathers the latest Europa Universalis V news from Paradox and the wider community into one page — patch notes, updates, and announcements as they publish, each linking back to the original source. The pre-launch dev-diary run, systems reveals, and release news for Paradox’s next grand strategy.
