Hell Let Loose delays a voted-for map to 2027 as Battlefield 6 adds voice to its battle royale

Share

Team17 pushed Seelow Heights into 2027 and named Lake Balaton as the winter map instead. Battlefield 6 detailed Tidal Strike, which brings proximity chat, AFK kicks and leave penalties to REDSEC. Myth of Empires opened Throne Season 3 with a ten-day crossover, Old School RuneScape rewrote its menu system, and Funcom described a cold second map for Dune: Awakening.

Mark the calendar

  • Sep 3Myth of Empires Throne Season 3 opens at 14:00 UTC, and the crossover rewards window opens with it.
  • Sep 13Myth of Empires The crossover rewards event closes at 16:00 UTC. Twenty hours of Throne playtime are needed by then.
  • Sep 22Dune: Awakening Console launch, with the Filmic Archive DLC at $9.99. Cross-play follows later, with no date.
  • SeptemberBattlefield 6 A two-week anniversary event runs towards the end of the month, alongside the normal playlist rotation.

The year gets rearranged

  • Hell Let Loose · Team17

Dev Brief #220 | What's Coming Next to Hell Let Loose?

Seelow Heights, the map the community voted in earlier this year, moves to 2027. Lake Balaton takes the winter slot instead, arriving in Update 22 after Experimental Branch testing. Update 21 lands first with Conquest, rifle grenades and fire-mode selectors.

    For your guild
Conquest is the part that changes how a company plays together, and it has had a year of testing first. Fire-mode selectors reach the MG34, STG 44, Bren and both Thompsons, and the STG and Bren had recoil raised to pay for it.

  • Battlefield 6 · Electronic Arts

Battlefield 6 - Community Update - Tidal Strike

Tidal Strike reworks Breakthrough on Tsuru Reef in the attackers' favour, moving objectives and opening boat routes. REDSEC gains directional proximity chat, an AFK kick, and escalating leave penalties on designated playlists.

    For your guild
Warn members about the leave penalties: repeatedly backing out of a designated playlist earns an escalating matchmaking restriction on it. Proximity chat also means nearby enemies hear your callouts, which changes how a squad talks.

  • Dune: Awakening · Funcom

Gamescom Is Over - Here's a Recap of Dune: Awakening News

Funcom gathered its Gamescom announcements and added detail on the Polar Cap, a free map arriving later this year built around extreme cold rather than heat, with its own survival mechanics, resources and standalone storyline.

    For your guild
A second map with its own survival rules means a guild's Hagga Basin kit and base plans do not carry over, and the update is free, so everyone can go. There is no date beyond later this year, so this is worth reading and not yet worth scheduling.

  • Monster Hunter Wilds · Capcom

Get a glimpse of the action of Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance!

Capcom began showing the Boost Bracer, a system that temporarily enhances actions and unlocks new attacks, ahead of the Ascendance expansion in 2027. A weapon type is being covered each day until September 15.

    For your guild
Ascendance requires the base game and completion of the 7-star assignment Awaking From a Dream, so a hunting group that wants to go in together should check who has cleared it rather than finding out in 2027. Nothing else here is worth planning around yet.

Live this week

  • Myth of Empires · Angela Game

Myth of Empires × Myth of Empires: Throne Season 3 Crossover

Throne Season 3 opened on September 3 with the Shattered Isles map, the Skyshaker Cannon and Boundary Marker changes. Season Points earned in Throne convert into Contribution Points spendable in Myth of Empires after the season ends.

    For your guild
The rewards need twenty hours in Throne between September 3 and September 13, which is a real ask over ten days rather than something members drift into. Only accounts owning the Steam base game before September 1 qualify.

  • Old School RuneScape · Jagex

    Summer Sweep Up Miscellaneous

Four elemental amulets craftable from new Slayer drops give +10 Magic accuracy and +2 max hit to their spell, and combining all four covers every elemental spell. Unsireds now stack, and dying in Chambers of Xeric no longer resets the Surge potion cooldown.

    For your guild
The Chambers fix removes a punishment that compounded a team wipe, so raid teams can stop planning around it. Permanent Deadman now demands 100,000 GP of risk to attack anyone and a million to enter raid areas.

  • Battlefield 6 · Electronic Arts

    BATTLEFIELD 6 UPDATE 1.4.2.5

The September 1 update fixes laser designation against jets in Carrier Strike, restores helicopter minigun damage to soldiers in water, and stops the Start tile locking up in Portal Custom Lobbies during the countdown.

    For your guild
The Custom Lobby fix matters to whoever runs a group's Portal nights, since the countdown could previously strand a full lobby. Support players can also ping downed teammates again, which is a revive callout a squad had been working around.

Menus and panels

  • Old School RuneScape · Jagex

Menu Entry Swapper Overhaul - Live Now!

Jagex rewrote the menu system from the ground up. Menus are now organised per subject, entries can be hidden individually or promoted out of submenus, and tall menus scroll by swipe on mobile.

    For your guild
Settings are stored per device and some walk-here customisations do not survive the migration, so anyone playing one account on phone and desktop has two setups to redo. Third party clients are unaffected.

  • Europa Universalis V · Paradox Tinto

Tinto Talks 122 - UI and QOL Changes

Version 1.4 gives Laws their own panel, adds a Turmoils panel gathering diseases, rebels and movements, and lets players see and edit building queues per location instead of cancelling the lot. A new Uncontrolled Wealth mapmode shows where tax is escaping.

    For your guild
No rules change, so a multiplayer group's strategy is untouched. What changes is how long a turn takes: editing a building queue in place removes one of the slowest bits of a session for whoever holds everyone up.
